Better Golf Through Better Clothing
July 27, 2008 - There aren't many if any golfers who wear performance
enhancing clothing. Some would say it’s because golfers are not really
athletes and others opine a typical golfer’s physique is not the kind one
would like to see in a Speedo much less wearing compression shorts.
But be that as it may adidas has leapt into the breach and is promoting
to golfers their TechFit Power Web line from the world of soccer and
cycling. There are long sleeve and short sleeve versions of the shirt
plus shorts, each designed with thermoplastic urethane bands for
support in strategic places such as the abdominal and back areas.
The fabric is ClimaCool, an old familiar favorite from adidas golf shirts.
Golfers who have tried Techfit say the shirt improves their posture and
gives a more athletic feeling making the golf swing. TechFit is available
for men in a short sleeve ($70) or long sleeve ($75) shirt and shorts
($70).
