YES! Intros Interchangeable Hosels
Per usual the annual PGA Merchandise Show was a
venue for every club company with putters in their lineup
to introduce the newest flat sticks to the world. From my
experience most are good with a few being really good
but let’s face it as with the multitude of drivers, just about
every variation of style, construction and materials has
been done.
Having said that I had the chance to spend some time at
the Show with Blair Phillip, Director of Research and
Development at YES! Golf a company which has gained
a reputation of high quality and innovative putter design.
Philip ran through the 2009 line and then pulled out a
putter with a truly unique feature.
The blade-style Tracy III Plus has a screw-in hosel
system. So if one type hosel say the standard plumber’s
neck, doesn’t suit your eye it can be replaced for one of
three others, either a slant neck, a z-bend or even one
with a pronounced heel-toe hang. The Tracy III Plus is an
update of the popular Tracy model and there’s also a
mallet-style named the Lizzy Plus. Both have the option
of four different hosels which come affixed to a standard
shaft.
Philip said the idea came from their customers who may
have liked a particular putter head but preferred the look
and balance of a different hosel.
The Lizzy Plus and Tracy III Plus heads have the
concentric C-Grooves which YES! is known for and are
CNC milled 303 stainless steel. Each has 2.5 degrees
loft with available lengths in right hand only of 32 to 37
inches and will be in shops Feb. 15 carrying a MSRP of
$360.
