Golf News & Opinion
Weather At A Glance
I’m the first to admit the “whiz-bang” of
technology, especially as it applies to golf,
fascinates me. Laser range finders, GPS
yardage devices, club head CAD, 4-piece
multi-layer balls, etc., each has an attraction
and as long we’re on the topic, the new
Bushnell Golf FXi is technology neatly
applied.
What Bushnell says about the Weather FXi:
• Simple set-up – select your 5 favorite golf course
locations from over 16,000 in the U.S.
• Golfcast rating and weather forecast icons provide
information instantaneously
• Live weather message for detailed information on today’
s conditions
• Color Changing Backlight Indicates Temperature At-A-
Glance
• 7-Day Forecasts sent directly from Accuweather.com
• USB transmitter, power adapter, CD software, and stand
included.
• Size – 7.3” x 4.25” x 2.75” weight 13.54 oz.
• MSRP $99.99
Like I said, technology neatly applied.
Whether planning to slip out for a quick nine
after work or scheduling a weekend match
golfers are always mindful of the weather
and this latest from Bushnell provides the
information we need. The FXi sits
unobtrusively on your desk displaying a
wealth of information about the current
weather at your favorite golf course plus a
forecast for the balance of the day and a
seven day forecast…Talk about perfect gifts
for a golfer!
The system software uses the Internet to
access the AccuWeather.com golf forecast
for five golf courses you select and sends it
to the display unit via a USB transmitter.
Neat, simple and from experience I can tell
you the toughest part of the setup is loading
the CD in the drive.
