The Eyes Have It

There’s no doubt playing golf is tough on the eyes and
doctors recommend both a hat and sunglasses for
protection. But one look at the sunglasses displayed in
most golf shops can create “sticker shock.” Prices in
the hundreds of dollars are not uncommon.

That was the genesis of Tifosi Optics six years ago.
Owners Joe and Elizabeth Earley saw an opportunity
for fashionable, technologically advanced and most
important affordable eyewear for athletes filling a
market segment they felt was not adequately
addressed.
Today Tifosi is sold by 2,500 retailers in 32 countries with prices from $29.95 to $89.95, definitely at the lower end of the price range for
performance eyewear. There are 170 model and color options keyed towards golfers and cyclists but which of course work for any
outdoor activity where eye protection is important. Besides price Tifosi’s have are number of other attractive features such as impact
resistant lenses with UVA/UVB protection, tough frames and all have a lifetime warranty against defects.

As an example, the Pavé model at only 29 grams fits medium to large faces and has adjustable nose pieces and temples in a choice of
five colors. A variety of interchangeable lenses are offered too, regular polarized, standard and golf, and Tifosi’s Fototec lens which
changes color when exposed to UV.

Tifosi’s high quality and technology first and then a nod to fashion approach at reasonable price is refreshing in contrast to most of the
other eyewear lines.
