ClubGlider a Winner
April 23, 2008 - Inventor Gary Sherrell of ClubGlider is
enthusiasm personified and not without good reason. His idea
for a second set of wheels to stabilize the ubiquitous wheeled
golf bag travel cover is just short of genius. For those of you
who tuned in to the Golf Channel’s “Fore Inventors Only” you
got a sampling of the charismatic Sherrell who acknowledges
he was conscious of trying to “tone it down” on national TV.
In any event Sherrell sold his idea to the FIO judges resulting
in a top-5 finish and a license agreement with Sun thinking
when it comes to golf bags and pull carts. It makes a very nice
match with the inventor providing input to the company which
took over finalizing design, manufacturing and distribution.
We tried the ClubGlider and consider it to be as big an
advancement as the original idea to put wheels on travel
covers for getting around in airports now that porters and
skycaps have pretty much gone the way of the free lunch.
ClubGlider’s second set of wheels gives more
maneuverability, stability and convenience than the usual
arrangement. It’s easier to pull or push and when you’re stuck
in line at the rental car counter the cover doesn’t have to be put
on the floor or balanced on end. You might say we’re really
sold on it.
The ClubGlider has an MSRP of $299.99 and can be found at
retailers or on line at theclubglider.com.
